Who invented the condom?

The modern latex condom was invented by Charles Goodyear, who did a lot of work with rubber production. Condom is one of the oldest forms of contraception that found its place in history.

As per some findings, first condom was used some thousands of year back (although it is not mentioned anywhere the reason of using it). Some paintings found in Egypt depict that condom was used by Egyptians thousands of years back some time before 950 B.C.

The use of condoms was not only found in Egypt, but some paintings from Europe also show the same thing, however the paintings in Europe are not that old as far as the time-line concerned that is related to Egyptian condom history, but it can be considered the earliest note of condom use in the modern times. Condoms made up of leather which were of pouch shaped closed at one end were in use in some other part of the world.

Also, as per Japanese history of condoms, various types of condoms were used in Japan. Some condoms were made from leather and some condoms were made from tortoise shell. However, there was no lubricant used with the first use of condoms (at least there is no such note mentioning use of lubricant in history).

The first public demonstration of the condoms is recorded to be around 15th century. It was made and used first in Italy. The name of the person who used it first was Gabrielle. The purpose of making condom was to prevent infection of the disease: Syphilis, which is a Sexually Transmitted Disease. Gabrielle used linen as the basic substance in making condom.

As it was a public demonstration; he conducted experiment with a group of over thousand people to prove that the thing that he made was very useful against Sexually Transmitted Disease: Syphilis. The condom was invented by a girl of the young age, her name was jacklin anastasia haskell. She invented it purposly to solidate the favor for birth and all that junk, but she found it was better to prevent birth. It has never been recorded but it is a man, I'm sure in the 1900's most likely, 70's when they found out about aids.

It could of been someone who stuck ceran wrap on their dick and that happened then they developed it more This is a highly debated question, some evidence exists that a form of condom (animal intestines, bladders, oil impregnated - silk, linen, and paper) was used in ancient civilizations (all). The modern version of the condom is from these ancient versions. In 1490 the first documented writing (historical proof) of a condom was used in a medical text by Gabriele Falloppio.Charles Goodyear is credited with the 'invention' of the "rubber" condom around 1844. Julius Fromm modernized the process for making the condom in 1912, with a process called "Cement Dipping." (Latex - although not generally credited until 1920).

In 1930 a fully automated process was developed and patented (no credit as to who is given). Polyurethane condoms were invented in 1994 by Durex.Note: Information contained in this answer is from several wiki-users, but had been deleted or otherwise tampered with.
